Research and DevelopmentMy major interest and field of research is new technology in relation to Web applications, the use of such, how users respond, learn, and how Web
applications can be most effective from a user perspective. I am involved in not just the design aspects, but the development of JAVA Web applications. Presently I am studying full time for a Computer
Science degree at Flinders University as well a Master of education. JAVA has been the most important focus for me and I am now developing Web application
interfaces in JAVA and am keen to pursue this work as it combines my instructional design skills, graphic design, marketing and extensive experience in IT as a course developer, consultant and project manager.
My work in Multimedia has therefore been directed to the potential of JAVA Web applications, which I see as significantly eroding future off-line CD ROM applications.
Experience in marketing using electronic and print media is significant, my freelance work for a major government department, NZ Railways Corporation, (Intercity) resulted in a National Tourism Award
(Ref. attached from the former National Manager). I have successfully provided marketing concepts and strategies that are applicable to other areas
like multimedia and television in addition to national Major Accounts at Yellow Pages Australia. As an educator, I am able to present complex data and technical information in business
or educational settings. I can provide excellent report and technical writing skills from working in highly technical areas. Manuals and books I have produced demonstrate the
ability to translate complex technical procedures into easy to read tutorials, as with Windows Made Easy and other courses and manuals I have written. |
